Pastor John Reeder
Pastor John Reeder was born and raised in Jackson, SC, where he has lived his entire life and built his family home. He attended First Baptist Church of Jackson and was saved and baptized in this church. At the age of twenty-six, he and his wife, Tara, were married in this church, as well. They have been married twenty-seven years and have two children, Grant who is 23 and Lauren who is 16.
In the summer of 1996, he and Tara began working with the youth and children's ministries. During this time, they also taught the young married couple's class. He was later elected as the youth pastor, in which he served in that capacity for 18 years. Pastor Marion Brittian became the pastor and began mentoring and encouraging John to move into other rolls of the church. In 2014 he moved into the outreach ministers roll and began taking on more of an assistant pastor's position along side Pastor Brittian. It was during this time that Pastor Brittian encouraged him to go through the ordination ceremony and under his guidance, John received his ordination. In 2018 John pastored his first church and was there just over three years until March of 2022. He is now excited to be a part of Memorial Baptist Church!
Two of Pastor Reeder’s favorite passages of scripture are - 2 Corinthians 4:7-15 and Romans 8:31-39
